Angola is a country located on the western coast of Southern Africa. It is bordered by Namibia to the south, Zambia to the east, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the north. To the west, Angola has a coastline along the Atlantic Ocean. The capital and largest city of Angola is Luanda. The country has a diverse cultural heritage, with influences from indigenous African cultures as well as Portuguese colonialism, which lasted until Angola gained independence in 1975.
