Togo is a narrow, landlocked country located in West Africa, bordered by Ghana to the west, Benin to the east, Burkina Faso to the north, and the Gulf of Guinea to the south. It has a coastline along the Atlantic Ocean. Lomé is the capital and largest city of Togo. French is the official language, a legacy of Togo's colonial past, but numerous indigenous languages such as Ewe and Kabiye are also widely spoken.
