Crediting/Refunding Customer Invoices
- All of the below process it’s done on NETSUITE.
- The credit for the return can be a credit memo with an option for a cash refund.
- To create a Credit memo locate the corresponding Customer Invoice and click 'CREDIT' or navigate to a Credit Memo. View the record:
- A Credit Memo can be either refunded to the customer or applied against an open invoice.
- To refund open the Credit Memo and click REFUND a Customer Refund record will open.
- On Refund Method tab select the Refund Method from the drop list. Review the record and SAVE
- When you click SAVE, a deposit application is created to apply the deposit to the refund check.
- Once a refund is recorded, you can view it at Transactions > Customers > Issue Customer Refund > List.
Important
If you are creating a credit memo directly from the invoice, you need to ensure that you remove any inventory/stock items from the list of items to avoid stock/inventory being booked back into stock! Replace with a non-inventory/stock item to proceed.
