Once you’ve identified the emotion, examine the thoughts associated with it. Are they accurate, or are they exaggerated or distorted?

Look for recurring patterns in your negative thinking or behavior. Are there specific situations where you tend to react negatively?

Replace negative thoughts with more positive or neutral ones. For example, instead of “I failed,” try “I learned something valuable” or “I’ll try again”. 

View negative experiences as learning opportunities and use them to grow stronger and more resilient.
